What is Naturopathic Nutrition therapy
Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health, vitality and personalized care. It is the use of food as medicine. What we ingest will form and feed our cells. If we don’t give the right fuel for our body it doesn't have the necessary nutrients to sustain health, leading to a broad range of symptoms. Through food and lifestyle changes I help you to achieve balance in the mind, body and spirit. As a Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist, I use both Nutritional Science and Naturopathic practices to establish the imbalances in one’s body, finding the root cause of the issues and individual needs. Taking a holistic approach, I prepare and deliver a personalised treatment plan as a means to support the client in achieving their health goals. Each patient is unique, there is no one size fits all.
Benefits / conditions supported
An extensive range of conditions can be fully supported using Nutritional Therapy:Hormonal imbalances, stress and anxiety, poor sleep and energy, weight management, skin issues, hair loss, chronic diseases, autoimmune conditions, infertility, asthma, arthritis, food intolerances, digestive disorders like constipation, IBS, bloating, acid reflux, candida overgrowth, gut flora imbalances.
How it works
When we start working together, we will have a first consulation, after which I will develop a personalized plan. Follow-ups appointments might be required depending on your needs. Everything is confidential.Prior to the consultation I will send you a short questionnaire including a 3 day food and lifestyle diary. At the first consultation, which is 1.5 - 2 hours long, I will enquire about body systems (eg digestive, cardiovascular, nervous...), diet, lifestyle, stressors, previous medical history, physical activity, use of medication, etc.. During the investigative phase, functional tests might be required as well, such as saliva, blood, urine or stool tests.
An important part of developing a plan is discussing what is achievable and realistic as to how much you are ready and willing to change, in the most effective way. The plan consists of diet and lifestyle advice and supplement recommendations.
After 3 to 6 weeks we will have a follow-up appointment in order to monitor your progress and make adjustments if necessary.
If needed I will update the plan, address new symptoms if there are any, and make changes to the supplement schedule. Further follow-ups may be required depending on the individual situation. Follow-ups usually last 45 minutes to an hour. If I find necessary I will work alongside your medical professional.
